Reco-Vie and The RSA WEEE Man

Reco-Vie are major sponsors of the RSA WEEE Man, a huge, three tonne sculpture made from Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

The WEEE Man represents the amount of electrical/electronic waste that a single person in the UK will produce during their lifetime. This imposing figure stands seven metres tall!

The RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) will unveil the WEEE Man at City Hall on London’s South Bank on April 29th 2005.

The RSA has collaborated with Reco-Vie and Canon Europe on this innovative project, a unique reminder of the growing problem of WEEE in our lives.

Reco-Vie supplied much of the WEEE used in the structure and will be a leading sponsor for the next two years, as the WEEE Man travels from London on to Cornwall’s Eden Project, then tours Europe.

The WEEE Man is part of the RSA’s Manifesto Challenge of moving towards a zero waste society. This is fully in accordance with Reco-Vie’s mission to provide a one-stop solution for the recycling, re-use and refurbishment of all types of WEEE.
